Big Brother be watching you!

In this country lately there has beed a few instances of cruelty being caught on CCTV (Cruelty catching TV) camera’s. I dunno what it like over the pond but here I hears a lot of people complaining about ‘Big Brother’ a ‘Nanny State’ Being watched, privacy invaded. Well, good!! Good, good good. Cos it mean they can catch things like this:

Cat Thrown in Bin

Ginger, dog dumped

Dog thrown down street

And lastly.

Jess, Stolen and killed

You might do rememberings that I did a post on Jess, last year I followed her story from when she first got tooked and was furry sad when we found she’d been killed. It takes a stupid long time for anything to get done in the people world, but at last, a while ago we heard that The person who took Jess, Gary Marshman, has finally ended up where he belonged, in prison. He got put there for theft. Not murder, but it the best we can hope for and at least some kind of justice. I just hope we gets justice for all the others.

“Marshman was found guilty of theft after a trial earlier this year but had given no reason as to why he took the Bisbys’ beloved pet, who was described as the couple’s chief interest in life.

Marshman, who has a string of previous convictions including possession of a firearm and burglary, was filmed by security cameras going in and out of the Tesco store in Cleckheaton, West Yorks, while Jess, who had an arthritic leg, was tied outside.

CCTV then tracked Marshman going through the car park with Jess on a lead. Later a single white hair on his clothes was shown to be the dog’s.

Marshman, of Bradford, West Yorks, was jailed for 26 weeks.”

So Big Brother, whoever you be, keep watching, please.

  1. We have "buster's law" in New York State, where cruelty against a companion animal is now a felony, with a sentence of up to two years in jail. I think it should be a longer sentence, but at least it is a start.I'm glad the cameras are out there bringing some of these horrid cases to light. Maybe it will help bring awareness to the situation.

  2. Thank you for this important post, Ludo. I agree with you and Sara that it is important these cases come to light, but it is we people who must contact media to get the word out. Its not always easy to do, but it is the one thing that will begin to save dogs and other animals from cruelty and abuses.Kisses from your pal,Stella

  3. It is amazing what some horrible people can do to animals. Fortunately we dogs with blogs have great people who love us, care for us, train us, give us treats, play, toys. Life is so good for us but not for some other unfortunate dogs. Thanks for the important post.Your friends,Niamh & Ambrose
