Hol-ee-day in Lancashire and poppies!

Hurro, Ludo here! A few weeks ago we went on Hol-ee-day (Holiday / vacation) to Lancashire, in the UK, we stayed in the Arnside and Silverdale area of outstanding natural beauty. I did not decide that, that just what it called. We had a very nice time and we all did lots of walkings and relaxings. It a very dog friendly place to has a hol-ee-day and we had a great time!

Just afore that Mum and TND went to London to visit family and we stayed at Grandpawents.

They went to go see the poppy display at the Tower of London whilst they be there.

And they went out for some people sushi food.

Then they comed to get us from Grandpawents and off we went to hol-ee-day.

We stayed in a very nice cottage with it’s own lakeside gardens. The lake be called Haws, which different to Hawes reserve where I went the other post and different to Haweswater, which I went to too. Someone who be naming things round here really like that name.

After a couple of days Grandpawents and Rusty arrived too and we they stayed a night. we all went out for walks and food together.

Grandma be very proud of herself, even though we had to push and pull her up some bits.

After Grandpawents went home again we found another very nice dog friendly nature reserve with very funny stone ground and Mum and TND seed some birds they had not seed afore which made TND happy although he said Arran saw them a lot more than us on account of him rushing ahead all the time. Arran chased some squirrels up trees too. The total count be squirrels 4, Arran 0.

We had a very nice time! No TV or internet or phone so the peoples did lots of this.

  1. Hi Ludo
Gail is very envious that your Mum saw the poppies at the Tower. I am quite envious of Arran chasing the four squirrels. Of course, they most certainly would not have escaped had I been around. (What do you mean Gail when you say, “like when did you ever come close to catching a squirrel Bertie?” I AWAYS catch them ….. in my dreams). I think all the different Hawes and Haws places look well worth exploring too.
    Toodle pip!
PS Gail wants to know if you and Arran helped with the jigsaw?

  2. I loved seeing the Tower of London and all the poppies because I just finished the book Wolf Hall where quite a few characters spent their last days! Now I have started the second book Bringing Up the Bodies. Both wonderful reads by Hilary Montel. Thanks for all the great pics and stories about where you boys have been!

    Cheers and hugs all around,

  4. What a beautiful holiday!

I would have loved to see the poppies – I’ve been looking at photos, but it must have been so beautiful and heartbreaking in person.

  5. Oh, does that ever look like a GREAT holiday! The poppies were so stunning – we saw other pix on the internets, but they weren’t as good as yours. So very WOW, you know?
I love the places you went exploring. That would be awesome!
My mom does those puzzle thingies on her iPad. She thinks if she did them “old school” a few pieces might go missing. Then she looks at me. I have no idea where she’s coming from!
    Yours sincerely,
